As we embark on this new year 2005, we look forward to the many opportunities in our industry. LoCarb products made their run. Yes, Dawn had a product line that we developed for our customers – it was pretty good, too – and still enjoys sales to customers who developed a following for these specialty products.

Customers, however, are buying from Dawn great new items for the sweet side of bakery that we see as the Dawn niche. Quality, good taste, and uniformity is what Dawn customers who buy the sweet side of bakery look for, and we spend a lot of time and dollars to fill this growing demand. This past year has seen our biggest investment yet in our industry: increased research and development capabilities, production and distribution facilities, and support people – all investments in our offerings to our customers.

The year 2004 was again a year of expanded sales for Dawn and there are many reasons for this growth. One is a belief in a world-wide concept that “customers are responsible for our paychecks.” With this in mind, we respond differently to customers than just putting in our time. Treating them with respect, sharing our knowledge with them, and helping them be successful comes more naturally when we understand, in the end, who is paying us. Another reason we grow (and a belief we ascribe to) is a respect throughout Dawn for the work being done and enjoying it.

Many people in Dawn have heard their leaders say, “You put in more time and effort here than anywhere else and it should be enjoyable.” When we work with this attitude “it shows” and we all pick up on it – customers, suppliers, and Dawn People!

God has put us here for a short time to somehow make the lives of others better, and we try every day to make Dawn a better company for those with whom we come in contact every day – and it shows.

The Circle of Excellence guides us – The Best People – providing excellent products and services to our industry and taking excellent care of our customers. It has been our premise – our guide for 85 years and we will continue to have it lead us as we grow in serving this great baking industry. Thank you all for your belief in Dawn’s abilities to serve your needs.
