As the industry and our customers know, Dawn is a family business dedicated to serving the baking industry—and we mean it. Following the tragic and devastating events of Hurricane Katrina, many local bakeries (small and large) were displaced or left scrambling for supplies. Because we know where the bakeries are—after all, they are a part of the Dawn family—Dawn People were in touch with them as soon as communications permitted, like many people in America were in touch with their own families. Our distribution and manufacturing coverage in this area from Kentucky, Florida, Georgia, Texas, and Kansas allowed us to provide products and support for these businesses, and we began assisting bakers, plants, and distributors in any way we could.

As we work through this difficult time, it brings into focus why God put us here. The Three Pillars of Dawn reinforce these values and define our culture and values. These three pillars are summed up in: We Know, We Care, and We Can Help. At Dawn, it’s about having the best people in this industry making and providing excellent products and services and taking great care of the customers—the people who make our paychecks possible. It’s known as Dawn’s Circle of Excellence.
