DAWN FOOD PRODUCTS, INC. ANNOUNCES PRICE INCREASE
Adjustment reflects increases in raw material, labor and manufacturing costs
JACKSON, MI (January 14, 2002) - Dawn Food Products, Inc., one of the world's largest independently owned bakery manufacturers and distributors, has announced that it will increase prices across all manufactured product lines by 3% due to increased raw material, labor, and manufacturing costs.
"For over 80 years, Dawn has served the baking community with great tasting bakery products, highly qualified people, and unparalleled service to meet customers' needs," said John Nally, president, Dawn North America. "Though Dawn works aggressively to control and even reduce costs, labor and benefits are projected to continue to rise for manufacturers dedicated to keeping good, qualified and fully trained workers," said Nally.
In addition, the increased cost of primary ingredients such as sugar, dextrose, corn syrup, cocoa, shortening and flour has forced Dawn to increase its costs across all manufactured product lines. Changes will be effective February 25, 2002.
Any orders placed prior to February 25, 2002 must be shipped no later than March 15, 2002 to receive old pricing.
