MRS. FIELDS FAMOUS BRANDS

Dawn awarded for outstanding service, on-time delivery, concepts

JACKSON, MI (December 3, 2004) – Dawn Food Products, Inc. announced today it has been honored with four awards from Mrs. Fields Famous Brands (MFFB) at its annual convention held October 25-27 at Westin LaPaloma Resort in Tucson, Arizona.  Dawn received two Franchise Choice Awards from Mrs. Fields and Pretzelmaker, and Dawn Food Products’ Edison, New Jersey Distribution Center received the Bakery Distribution Center of the Year Award.  The fourth award went to Carol Highland of Dawn who was cited for “Service Above and Beyond the Call of Duty for an Individual”.

“On behalf of the entire Dawn family, we accept these awards with great honor,” said Mark McFadden, national sales leader for Dawn.  “It is truly a testament of our philosophy to service all our customers with the same dedication to personal service and uncompromising quality, that has made us successful,” stated McFadden.  

McFadden accepted the Franchise Choice Awards for both Mrs. Fields and Pretzelmaker on behalf of Dawn after a vote of all the MFFB franchisees was tallied to cite their favorite supplier by brand.  Since 1998 Dawn has provided high-quality bakery ingredients and supplies including frozen dough, mixes, icings and packaging for Mrs. Fields Famous Brands, which has over 500 retail and corporate outlets throughout the US.

The Mrs. Fields Famous Brands Distribution Center of the Year was awarded to Dawn Food Products – Edison, New Jersey.  The award was determined by the Mrs. Fields corporate purchasing and distribution team based on fill rates, on-time delivery and overall service.  The Edison facility was recognized for exceeding all expectations of the Mrs. Fields and Pretzelmaker purchasing teams, having an overall fill rate for all bakery brands combined-year to date of 99.5%, and having a proactive, “can do” attitude in resolving all issues.   Alan Gardner, General Manager for the Edison facility, was present to accept the award.

Carol Highland of Dawn was honored with an award for “Service Above and Beyond the Call of Duty”.  Highland, who has worked with Mrs. Fields Famous Brands for the past six years, was recognized for the outstanding service based on her day to day performance.
