DAWN FOOD PRODUCTS APPOINTS JONES-BARBER CEO; ANNOUNCES

CORPORATE RESTRUCTURING

JACKSON, MICH. (January 13, 2006) – Dawn Food Products, Inc., one of the world’s largest independently owned bakery manufacturers and distributors, has appointed Carrie Jones-Barber as chief executive officer of the company.

Ms. Jones-Barber is the third generation of the Jones family to continue Dawn’s growth, along with other Jones family members and over 4,000 Team Dawn members worldwide.  Ms. Jones-Barber most recently served as President of Dawn Foods International.

Ronald L. Jones was appointed Chairman and Miles E. Jones was named Co-Chairman.  Both will remain active in the management of Dawn Foods, headquartered in Jackson, Mich. 

Dawn Foods also announced corporate restructuring initiatives designed to enhance the company’s competitive positioning and better align the organization to service its customers throughout the U.S. and globally.

The company’s new structure includes three Strategic Business Units along with five Global Business Support Units. 

“These eight areas of the organization will help us create a platform for continued growth while giving us the alignment of resources that will enable us to best take advantage of the things we do well, spreading that knowledge throughout the organization.  The new corporate structure is based on more successful utilization of people across the organization, working globally on a cross functional basis, sharing common goals and expectations,” said Ms. Jones-Barber.

Jones-Barber said each of the eight new business units will be headed by a president, announcing that five of the eight positions have been filled. 

Elected president of the three Strategic Business Units are: Ken Hall, Dawn International; Dave Kowal, Dawn USA Bakery Products; and Eric Metzendorf, Dawn USA Bakery Distribution.

Promoted to president of two of the five Global Business Support Units are: Phil Batty, Dawn Global Operations and Jerry Baglien, Dawn Global Business Services.  Remaining positions to be filled are presidents of Dawn Global Sales and Marketing, Dawn Global Strategy and Development, and Dawn Global People Development.
