SWAN FOODS, an equal joint venture between Dawn Foods, Inc. and the bakery focused Switz Group recently opened a frozen donut plant in Sohar, Sultanate of Oman.  The 8,000 square meter plant will produce 90 million donuts every year for markets in the Middle East and Far East.  This will be the first of four lines that will be dedicated to producing and popularizing American style bakery products in the Middle East. 

Dawn Foods, a global bakery supplier, is making its first foray into manufacturing in the Middle East and Asia with this major commitment in the joint venture with the Switz Group.  Dawn Foods has manufacturing and distribution facilities in the U.S., Mexico, Canada, UK and Europe.  The Switz Group has manufacturing operations in Saudi Arabia, Oman, UAE, India, Sri Lanka and the Philippines.

Recently, a group of leaders from Dawn Foods, the Switz Group and several customers toured the new Swan Foods facility in Oman that will bring U.S. style bakery products to consumers in Asia and Middle East.

Taste tempting and visually appealing donuts and baked goods are expected to expand new markets for Swan Foods’ products.
