Dawn Foods has expanded its range of dry mixes, bases and concentrates with the launch of two new gluten free Muffin Mixes, with further gluten free products to follow later in the year.
With 1 in 100 people now suffering from Coeliac Disease and even more choosing to go gluten free as a lifestyle choice and for general health, the opportunity for bakers and caterers to offer gluten free sweet bakery products as another product line, is fast expanding. According to Mintel the ‘free-from’ market, which includes gluten free, is expected to rise from £470m in 2015 to £672m by 2020.
Manufactured in a strictly controlled environment, Dawn’s new gluten free Muffin Mixes are available in chocolate and vanilla, both with natural colours and flavours. They are palm oil free and FSA 2017 salt compliant too.
Both products offer the same moist taste, airy texture and volume as Dawn’s regular muffin mixes. Bakers use the same application methods and will find that the batter holds inclusions and fillings well and always domes. As well as traditional American-style muffins, the mix can be used to make a variety of other loaf and family cakes, enabling bakers to cost-effectively offer a range of gluten free products from one bag of mix.
