Dawn Foods were delighted to attend this year’s Scottish Bakers Annual Conference on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th June 2019 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Glasgow. Hosted by Scottish Bakers Ambassador, Mich Turner, the event delivered a range of inspiring talks and interactive panel sessions on emerging trends and marketing, branding and design. It was great to see our very own Market Research & Insights Manager, Sam Schira, presenting as part of the Trends & Inspiration panel.
Saturday evening hosted the 2019 Scottish Baker of the Year Awards, with Harry Gow Bakery winning the Scottish Baker of the Year award title for the second year running. A big congratulations from us to all of this year’s winners, including Mimi’s Bakehouse, who won the Dawn sponsored Bakery Café of the Year award.
The event also included a performance of Edinburgh Fringe and Glasgow Comedy Festival hit "The Pieman Cometh", which was an absolute pleasure to watch!
We were thrilled to meet more of our Scottish customers at the conference and to hear the announcement of the Scottish Bakers Grant Scheme, which aims to support bakers by providing them with vital funding.
We had a fantastic time at this year’s Scottish Bakers Annual Conference and look forward to attending the next one!
