Brush puff squares with egg wash. Be careful not to go over the edges. Fold square in half, corner to corner to make a triangle. Cut a 2 inch strip from the bottom of the triangle. Spread caramel filling on prepared puff squares in a smaller square, leaving 1 inch on each edge. Bake at 400°F until puff is rich golden brown. Place sliced apples on top of caramel filling and glaze while pastry is still warm.
