Working Method

Make up the donut mix according to manufacturer’s instructions then roll out and cut into long johns. Cut each long john twice lengthwise, leaving ½” inch on the top so that you have three strips that are all connected. Gently braid the strips of dough, tightly pinching the strips together at the end to keep the braid from coming apart in the fryer.  Proof, fry, let cool completely.  Combine 1 pound glaze, 1oz lemon fruit bits, 0.09oz or 1 tsp cinnamon, and 0.06oz or 1 tsp ginger. Pour glaze over each warm braid.
