The new look products, all based on authentic American recipes, have improved performance and appearance, all-natural flavours and colours as well as reduced salt. All products in the range are palm oil free and Halal certified too.
Crème Cake Base - this essential product, available in Plain and Chocolate, has been reformulated to include 100% natural flavours as well as improved performance to make it easier for bakers to create new recipes from one mix. The new-look Crème Cake Bases still produce the same moist-eating sponge, but are more tolerant and stable for carrying inclusions and fillings meaning bakers can use the base in many different applications including round cakes, sheet cakes, steamed puddings and even muffins. Both FSA 2017 salt compliant, the Chocolate Crème Cake Base contains sustainably sourced UTZ certified cocoa.
Muffin Base – Dawn’s Extra Moist Plain and Chocolate Muffin Bases now feature all-natural flavours and produce consistently moist, airy textured muffins that dome well. The new formulation makes it easier for bakers to customise traditional American-style muffins with inclusions and fillings too, in line with current trends in the bakery market. FSA 2017 salt compliant, Dawn’s Chocolate Muffin Base now has a deeper and more indulgent chocolate taste as a result of cocoa powder and chocolate powder, both of which are UTZ certified.
Carrot Cake Mix and Carrot Cake Base have both been reworked to feature natural colour and as a result, a more appealing batter appearance. The Carrot Cake Mix has had a 50% salt reduction too but with no compromise on delivery of a classic, naturally spiced full flavoured sponge. These versatile Carrot Cake products can be used to make authentic American Carrot Cake layered with Dawn® Cream Cheese Frosting as well as traditional British ginger cakes and Parkin.
Cookie Base – available in Vanilla and Chocolate, Dawn’s Cookie Base has been redeveloped to ensure that each batch of cookies delivers an authentic American cookie taste and texture – crispy on the outside with an attractive cracked surface and soft inside. Just add water and butter, the base makes cookie baking easy and the reformulation means there is less spread during baking, ensuring a consistently regular cookie size and shape. Both FSA 2017 salt compliant, the chocolate variant contains UTZ chocolate powder and cocoa powder for a rich taste.
